See this content in the original post

It has been said that a person should make a living doing something they would gladly do for free. Ross’s focus has always been doing his favorite things, very well. He is a classically trained designer turned web guru. Ross Johnson built his first website in 1995; he has been captivated ever since. He brings clear thinking, a holistic understanding of the web, and a good sense of humor to every project. He founded successful 3.7 DESIGNS in 2004. 3.7 DESIGNS is a web design and web strategy company. 3.7 DESIGNS focuses on not only the design of interactive web sites but also the marketing of them, including search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media, pay per click, etc. Johnson has designed for a wide range of clientele and situations ranging from small start-ups, municipalities, schools and multinational corporations. Additionally, he maintains several popular designs and web-related blogs. Since founding 3.7 DESIGNS, he continued to co-found Refresh Detroit. Refresh Detroit a part of Refreshing Cities; the web design movement is promoting the spread of usability, accessibility, and web standards. It aims to create an environment of learning through each other.

In this episode of the Be Real Show, Ross and Travis open up the show discussing the meaning behind his name 3.7 DESIGNS. The general idea of The Butterfly Effect is a chain reaction can occur with something unpredictably significant at the end of the chain. When the formula reaches 3.7, that’s when The Butterfly Effect occurs. The biggest question Ross gets is how to get a higher ranking on search engines. Often, these businesses are getting outranked by their competition. Ross helps clients understand SEO better and why their competition may be outranking their business on Google. Some companies still have a strong emphasis on non-digital advertising. Plus, not everyone has their complete focus on the mobile app; many prefer to work on the desktop first. However, Ross says companies should be focusing on their mobile-first, then work on their desktop website. Later, Ross explains how Google algorithms can profoundly affect your rankings. Stay tuned to hear Ross answer the top ten questions, including what he asks himself every morning.
