RevuKangaroo has a unique system that collects reviews on your employees' service rather than customers rating your business directly. This typically leads to a more significant increase in reviews written, and they tend to be more positive.

Parker and Sons is a family business, Josh worked on their marketing and blew up the company. His goal was never to become an entrepreneur; he found a need and decided to create a business out of it. The reason you need RevuKangaroo is because everyone who is searching for your business will be making decisions based on reviews online. RevuKangaroo uses lots of different methods to get their name out in the world; there is not one silver bullet to build a business. #171 - Tom Libelt gets real about Creating Online Courses & Marketing Them

Born in Communist Poland…. Tom and his family escaped to the US when he was 11 in the early 90’s. Tom ran a record store with two older friends. Became a DJ and played at colleges, bars, radio stations, clubs and raves. Three degrees. Two associates and one bachelor. Marketing – Business to business & Sound engineer. Straight out of college I moved to New York and got an internship at Unique Recording Studios. Eventually he moved on to Assistant Engineer and then Engineer before all the studios started shutting down. Had 3 hits in the top 10 on the local polish radio… one was #1 for almost a year. After working in sales for all of these corporations I realized that they were the ones making residual income from my hard work and I always started from zero each month.

Used his SEO skills to talk to local business and landed my initial clients. Before he knew he had an agency with workers and made more than he ever did in his corporate jobs. One of the blog networks that he used for SEO became too popular and Google shut it down.

That left him with 1,500+ blog posts and a team of writers with nothing to do. He told them to start writing books and left them alone. That became profitable and he went on to write 5,000+ books and making $250,000+ Lesson learned for his SEO biz… do not use private blog networks! He created better systems and tighter constraints for what he would pursue but it turned out ok.

He later got a team together and made a documentary about the realities of building/running businesses when on the road.

Over the last few years he got into podcasting. One of his SEO clients is a Muay Thai Champion and he went on to create an online course and market it. He took his new marketing skills to help others build online courses and market them.

#170 - Bill Bice gets Real about getting to $10 Million in Revenue

As a freshman at UNM, Bill founded his second company, ProLaw Software. Under Bill’s leadership as President and CEO, ProLaw achieved an average compound annual growth rate of 78% during the last 5 years as an independent company.

ProLaw appeared on the Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest growing companies in the country three years in a row. In 2001, Bill and his team sold ProLaw to West Group, the foremost provider of integrated information solutions to the legal market and a division of what is now Thomson Reuters.

Thomson Reuters built a 64,000 sf building for the ProLaw division on Masthead St. in the Jefferson corridor. During Bill’s tenure, ProLaw created 160 jobs almost entirely in Albuquerque, and the division’s primary focus of operations continues to be Albuquerque.

During his tenure at West, Bill served on the executive committee, during which time he completed the Thomson School of General Management. Bill created the West km business unit, which combines ProLaw technology with West content to create legal-specific knowledge management solutions. For his accomplishments in the creation of the West km business, Bill was co-recipient of Thomson Legal & Regulatory’s President’s Award for innovation. Bill was on the executive team which completed the acquisition of Elite Information Group, a former competitor to ProLaw Software, and led the product strategy team during the integration transition which combined Elite and ProLaw to create the Thomson Elite business unit. Bill continued in a consulting role with the Thomson Corporation as Chief Strategist, Practice Management Products until 2004.

Joining the founding team at Verge was Bill’s route to return to startups. Bill focuses on helping founding teams build successful companies. Dr. Stanley G. grew up in a project building on the south side of Chicago where he spent many days playing chess, pitching pennies and dodging street gangs. His original career goal was to become a graphic artist but he pleaded temporary insanity and joined the Marine Corps instead. He considered that when plan A fails, you’ve still got 25 letters left in the alphabet; so he traded in the life of a devil dog for the life of a suit. She sold or donated anything that wouldn't fit into her trusty Honda CRV with 95,000 miles on the odometer, and traveled solo for 18 months throughout the US, Latin America, Iceland, and the UK.
